Crochet Hexagon Pattern

hexagon crochet granny blanket

Over the last few months I've been keeping back a set of the 10g randoms from The Mini Skein Club for myself and working up a collection of little crochet hexies.

I've currently got 8 months worth (I think I'm planning on working up 12 which will be a total of 120 hexies) and after that I'm going to edge each one in white and join them all together in a gorgeous, crazy, random blanket.

I've had a few requests for the pattern so I thought I'd share it here - I'll update you when I've started joining them with how I'm going about that as I'm not completely decided yet.

Each 10g skein makes two hexagons with a little left over.

I've done 3 rounds here but you'll see how easy it would be to keep adding rounds to make bigger hexagons if you wanted to.

Rnd 1: 6ch, join to first ch with sl st to form a ring, 3ch (counts as 1tr), working into ring, 2tr, 2ch, *3tr, 2ch, rep from * a further 4 times, a total of 6 sets of 3 sts, join to top of starting ch with sl st, turn.

Rnd 2: 3ch (counts as 1tr), [1tr, 2ch, 1tr] in ch-sp, *3tr, [1tr, 2ch, 1tr] in ch-sp, rep from * a further 5 times, 2tr, join to top of starting ch with sl st, turn.

Rnd 3: 3ch (counts as 1tr), 3tr, [1tr, 2ch, 1tr] in ch-sp, *5tr, [1tr, 2ch, 1tr] in ch-sp, rep from * a further 5 times, 1tr, join to top of starting ch with sl st.

Fasten off.

I really excited to start joining these! I'll share here as soon as I do.
