Turn regular crochet hooks into gorgeous gifts (for yourself or for others!) by adding beautiful handles, with this simple tutorial, using polymer clay.

lego cake ::

so as you are probably aware, the toddler turned three on saturday. To celebrate this milestone, there was a very lego/duplo filled day, which included a fairly time consuming, stress inducing first attempt at a decorated cake. By decorated in this instance I mean anything that isn't simply smeared with butter icing and sprinkled with a few hundreds and thousands.

Quick and easy granny square cowl free crochet pattern.


ingredients ::

I used ::

rico cotton essentials DK

1 x 50g ball white
1 x 50g ball green
1 x 50g ball banana
1 x 50g ball purple
1 x 50g ball tangerine
1 x 50g ball grass green
1 x 50g ball red
1 x 50g ball light teal
1 x 50g ball orange
1 x 50g ball fuschia
1 x 50g ball navy

any double knit cotton (or indeed any other type of yarn) in various colours would work too.

heart granny square :: a pattern ::

Granny square pattern with a little something different. This heart centred crochet granny square would make a gorgeous afghan blanket.


Please note this pattern is written here in english crochet terms,  which differ from american crochet terms, there is a fabulous table here which gives translations of all the stitches I've use here.
