Welcome to my small independent yarn dyeing and crochet design studio, based in Cheltenham in the UK.

I'm Vicki, maker, dyer and designer, with a particular passion for crochet socks and mini skeins, behind every hand dyed skein and pattern you'll find here.

The Yarns

Every skein is hand-dyed by me, in small batches, in my garage studio at my home. 

Some examples of the yarn bases I like to dye are...

• Sock yarns ; standard, singles, high twist, and more — built for durability and stitch definition
• Double Knit ; superwash merino perfect for garments
• Kid mohair/silk lace weight ; a dreamy, halo-rich yarn that layers beautifully over other fibres
• Mini skeins ; ideal for colourwork, stripes, and small projects - I am very fond of mini skeins!
• Chunky ; for quick, satisfying makes

I work with high quality bases, mostly all from Chester Yarns who have ethics I feel confident in. I dye in small batches with love. I like playing around with lots of techniques so you'll see many different styles and colours in my collections.

The Process

Hand-dyeing is a slow, hands-on labour of love. Each skein is soaked, dyed, heat-set, rinsed, and dried, twisted in to skeins and labelled by me. No two skeins are ever exactly alike that's what makes them so special. This gives finished projects that unmistakable indie-dyed quality.

The Patterns

Alongside the yarn, I design crochet patterns, from accessories to garments (with a particular fondness for socks) they are written to be clear, achievable, and enjoyable to make. My patterns are available as instant PDF downloads and as printed booklets, so you can choose what works best for you.

The Clubs & Subscriptions
