Free Crochet Pattern Ideas for Mini Skeins
Posted by vicki brown on
I've been on the hunt for some crochet patterns that will work well with mini skeins and I've put together a little list here of some that are available for free.
Lake Peppin Blanket - While They Dream
If you fancy trying your hand at Tunisian Crochet, this gorgeous blanket from While They Dream would be a beautiful way to show off a lot of mini skeins.
The pattern calls for sport weight yarn - but as it's a blanket you could easily swap that out for sock or DK.

Scrap Scallop Scarf - Heidi Gustad
Another lovely idea is this Scallop Scarf from Heidi Gustad.
A scarf is a great way to use minis as you can easily adjust the length to make the most of all your yarn.
It calls for sock weight yarn but again would be easy to adjust to DK.

Magdalen Socks - Vicki Brown
If you want to have a go at crochet socks, then this is my basic sock pattern, which is perfect for beginners.
Using sock weight yarn it's not written especially for minis, but does use different colours for the heels, cuffs and toes, and would be really easy to make the main body of the sock up with stripes using minis.

Skipton Hat - Vicki Brown
Another of my patterns and again not written especially for minis, but very easy to use them in here (the one is this photo uses minis). The Skipton Hat is one of my most popular patterns!
It uses DK weight, but I have made versions using sock weight held double.
